Hit and Stick **Suddenly Out of Nowhere (Khabt Laz’ / Khabed Lazed) – Palestinian/Jordanian Dialect** Samer was just sitting at home on a Friday when suddenly his friend Mazen called: — "Samer, what do you think about going to Aqaba tomorrow?" Samer was surprised: — "Tomorrow?! Where did that come from?" Mazen: — "Man, just like that, suddenly out of nowhere! I talked to the guys and everyone’s in." Samer laughed: — "But where are we going to stay? What are we going to do? And who’s bringing the car?" Mazen replied: — "We’ll figure it out on the way. The important thing is that we get out and have a change of scenery!" The next morning, they were all in the car, one of them had forgotten his bag, another still needed to stop and get money, and the third wasn't even sure if he had booked the time off from work! Samer looked at them and laughed: — "My God, this trip really came from suddenly out of nowhere, from beginning to end!" Khabt Laz’ (Khabed Lazed): An expression we use to talk about something happening suddenly and quickly, with no introductions or planning, like a spontaneous outing, trip, or decision.
