The Story of Waleed and the Wedding Rescue"** My friend, listen to this contemporary and realistic story that happened with **Waleed**. Waleed is a hardworking and generous young man from Taiz, who works on a "dabbab" (a small minibus) transporting people. On a blessed Friday, it was the wedding of his older brother, **Majid**, and the streets were full of decorations and celebrations. Waleed was dressed in his absolute best: a white thobe and a traditional dagger belt (*masr*), feeling fresh, perfumed, and in a rush to make it to the wedding hall to welcome the guests. As he was driving his dabbab down the main street while the festivities were blazing, he glanced over and saw an elderly man named **Uncle Saleh** standing by the roadside, carrying heavy boxes and lots of bags, gesturing with his hands while everyone ignored him because they were all in a rush! Waleed stopped right next to him, stepped down from the dabbab, and said gently: * *"Welcome, Uncle Saleh, come right up—you have a seat right over my head! Where are you headed?"* Uncle Saleh let out a sigh of relief and said while wiping his sweat: * *"My son, I'm in a rush to reach the neighborhood wedding hall. I have the groom's attire, perfumes, and oud with me, and all the buses are ignoring me while time is running out!"* Waleed smiled and said: * *"Don't worry at all, uncle, expect nothing but good! **The morning is still young (Aad al-sabah bakir)**, and **things are going great (sabirah)**! Get in, and I will deliver you to your destination and we’ll make it to the wedding together."* Waleed carried the bags and boxes himself, Uncle Saleh climbed in, and Waleed drove the dabbab at top speed while praying for him along the way. When they arrived at the entrance of the hall, they quickly unloaded the boxes. At the exact moment of entering, Waleed was surprised to see his family and his brother, the groom **Majid**, standing anxiously at the entrance, not knowing what happened to the man with the wedding attire! As soon as they saw Uncle Saleh step down with Waleed along with all the bags intact and safe, the groom Majid shouted and hugged his brother, saying in front of all the attendees: * *"By God, that is a **fine qirhah (qirhat jayd)**, Waleed! You saved our faces and rescued the whole wedding!"* Everyone burst out laughing, sat down to drink **spiced milk tea (shahi mulabban)**, and everyone began talking about Waleed's heroic **faza'ah** (chivalrous rescue) that beautified the wedding and raised his family's heads high in front of the guests.
