كان يا ما كان، بالحارة عايشة صبية مكركبة اسمها زينب، كل ما توقف على الغاز لتغلي قهوة، بتسرح بشي شغلة... وبلمح البصر بتفور القهوة و بتندلق كلياتها على الغاز! وكل مرة بتدلق القهوة عالغاز، بتطلع زينب بأمها بتضحك و بتبوسها على راسها و بتقول لها بابتسامة: - "ولا يهمك يا أم الزوز! دلق القهوة خير وبركة!" ومرت الأيام، وزينب ما تركت مكان إلا ودلقت فيه قهوة؛ مرة على السجاد، ومرة على فستان الجيران، و تضل تقول: "دلق القهوة خير.. جيّة رزق!" وبيوم من الأيام، إجا عريس ليشوف زينب، ولما إجت لتصب القهوة، رجّت إيدها ودلقت الفنجان كلياته على بدلة العريس! جمدت زينب بأرضها واصفرّ وجهها، بس العريس ابتسم وقال لها: - "ولا يهمك! دلق القهوة خير وبركة.. وهاد أول الخير!" ضحكت زينب، و كملت الخطبة وطلعت أحلى جوازة! ومن يومها صارت تقول: "دلق القهوة خير.. مسحة زعل وجيّة رزق!"
**Spilling Coffee Brings Good Fortune!)** Once upon a time, in the neighborhood, there lived a clumsy girl named Zainab. Every time she stood by the stove to boil coffee, she would space out... and in the blink of an eye, the coffee would boil over and spill all over the stove! Every time she spilled the coffee on the stove, Zainab would look at her mother, laugh, kiss her on the head, and say with a smile: * *"Don't worry, Um El-Zouz! Spilling coffee brings good fortune and blessings!"* Days went by, and Zainab didn't leave a single place without spilling coffee—once on the carpet, another time on the neighbor's dress—all while keeping her motto: *"Spilling coffee brings good fortune... it brings prosperity!"* Then one day, a suitor came to meet Zainab. When she went to serve the coffee, her hands trembled and she spilled the whole cup right onto the suitor's suit! Zainab froze on the spot and her face turned pale, but the suitor smiled and said to her: * *"Don't worry! Spilling coffee brings good fortune and blessings... and this is just the beginning of good things to come!"* Zainab laughed, the engagement moved forward, and it turned out to be the sweetest marriage! From that day on, she always said: *"Spilling coffee brings good fortune... wiping away sorrow and bringing prosperity!"*
