She's Bold and Confident – Palestinian-Jordanian Dialect Layan was a bold young woman who wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. She knew how to handle situations, even during the toughest times. One day, she went to buy a phone. After paying for it and using it, she discovered that something was wrong with it. She wasn't about to let it go, so she returned to the shop and explained the problem to the shopkeeper. However, he refused to take it back. He told her: — Sorry, once an item is sold, it can't be returned. Layan replied confidently: — That applies when the product is in good condition, not when you sell me a faulty phone! The man tried to avoid dealing with her, but Layan refused to give up on her rights. She insisted that he examine the phone in front of her and offer a solution. Eventually, he agreed and replaced the device. As Layan walked out of the shop, her friend said: — Honestly, if I were you, I would've been too embarrassed to argue. I would've just left! Layan laughed: — Why should I feel embarrassed when I'm simply asking for what's rightfully mine? Her friend replied: — Mashallah! You're bold, confident, and perfectly capable of standing up for yourself! Expression Meaning: Literally: Her eye is strong / His eye is strong. In this context, the expression describes a bold, strong, and confident girl or boy who knows how to handle situations, isn't easily intimidated, and isn't afraid to stand up for their rights.
