The Bird Who Was Afraid to Fly There was once a little bird named Zain who lived with his mother and siblings in a beautiful nest high up in a tall tree. His siblings looked up at the sky with excitement. They flapped their wings and dreamed about the day they would learn to fly. But Zain looked down at the ground far below and felt afraid. He said to himself: “What if I fall? What if my wings cannot carry me?” Then came the day when his siblings began learning how to fly. They stood at the edge of the nest, flapped their wings, and jumped, one after another. The first bird flew a little before landing on a nearby branch. The second bird flew even farther and returned happily, singing with joy. But Zain stayed in the nest. His mother gently said to him: “You will never know what you are capable of until you try.” But Zain shook his head and said: “I will wait until I am older… until I feel completely ready.” Days passed, and his siblings flew every day. They discovered new trees, saw beautiful fields, and found places that Zain could not see from his nest. Whenever he wanted to try, he looked down at the ground, and fear returned to his heart. A long time passed, and Zain began to notice something strange. The more his siblings flew, the stronger their wings became. But his own wings remained weak because he never used them. Zain felt sad. One bright morning, he stood at the edge of the nest. His heart was beating quickly. He was afraid… But this time, he did not step back. He opened his wings… And jumped! At first, he felt as though he was going to fall. But he flapped his wings with all his strength. And suddenly… He was no longer falling. He was flying! He rose above the trees and saw the world from a place he had never seen before. Zain laughed as he flew and said: “My fear did not disappear… but I no longer let it stop me!” The Lesson: Fear does not always disappear before we begin, but courage grows when we try, one step at a time.
