The proverb says: “Harmony helps bring livelihood.”
There were two brothers, Samer and Malek, who owned a small sweets shop together.
At first, the shop was small, but people loved it because their work was good and their energy was warm.
If one of them got tired, the other supported him. And when things got busy, they laughed and kept going.
Whenever customers walked in, they felt comfortable.
One day, a man who owned several big stores came to Samer and said:
“You’re the one who really understands business… your brother is holding you back. Open your own shop—it’ll be better for you.”
The words got stuck in Samer’s mind.
He started arguing with Malek over every little thing:
“Why did you sell it for a lower price?”
“Why did you promise the customer that?”
The shop that used to be full of laughter became full of tension.
Strangely, ever since the problems started, business became slower.
They began making mistakes with orders, and customers stopped coming back.
Their father watched them silently until one day he sat between them and said:
“The moment love disappeared, the blessing disappeared too… harmony helps bring livelihood.”
The two brothers went silent.
For the first time, they realized that the problem wasn’t the business itself… the problem was between them.
The proverb “Harmony helps bring livelihood” is used to encourage people to live with understanding, love, kindness, and mercy between each other, and to stay away from constant conflict. Because when people become consumed by problems, they start thinking in destructive ways, and instead of succeeding, they fail.
