الحمامة والثعبان الصامت

كانت حمامةٌ بيضاء تعيش في شجرة عالية،
آمنة، مطمئنّة، لا تؤذي أحدًا.

وفي أسفل الشجرة سكن ثعبان،
لم يُبدِ أذى، ولم يطلب قربًا،
وكان يقول دائمًا:

«أنا مسالم، أفضّل الصمت على الخصومة.»

اطمأنت الحمامة،
وصارت لا تحذر منه،
حتى وضعت بيضها في عشّها مطمئنّة.

وذات يومٍ غابت الحمامة قليلًا،
فلما عادت وجدت العشّ فارغًا.
لا أثر لكسر، ولا صوت صراع.

نزلت تسأل الثعبان، فقال بهدوء:

«الريح يا جارتي…
أحيانًا تأخذ ما نحب دون إنذار.»

حزنت الحمامة، لكنها صدّقته.
ومرت الأيام…
وكلما غابت، نقص البيض.

حتى جاء يومٌ لم تعد فيه تحتمل الشك،
فراقبت من بعيد،
فرأت الثعبان يلتهم البيض ببطء… بلا صوت.

واجهته، فقال:

«لو كنتِ تراقبين من البداية لما اتهمتِ الريح.»

فتركت الحمامة الشجرة،
وقالت قبل رحيلها:

«الصمت ليس دليل سلام،
وبعض الهدوء يخفي أنيابًا.»

العبرة

ليس كل من لم يؤذك نقيًّا،
ولا كل من سكت بريئًا.
فالحكمة لا تكون في حسن الظن الدائم،
بل في التوازن بين الثقة والانتباه.

The Dove and the Silent Snake

A white dove lived in a tall tree,
safe, calm, and harming no one.

At the base of the tree lived a snake.
It showed no aggression and asked for no closeness.
It often said:

“I am peaceful. I prefer silence over conflict.”

The dove felt reassured
and stopped being cautious,
until she laid her eggs in her nest with complete trust.

One day, the dove was away for a short time.
When she returned, the nest was empty.
There were no signs of damage,
no sound of struggle.

She went down and asked the snake.
He replied calmly:

“The wind, my neighbor…
Sometimes it takes what we love without warning.”

The dove was sad, but she believed him.
Days passed,
and every time she was absent, fewer eggs remained.

Until one day, doubt became unbearable.
She watched from afar
and saw the snake slowly devouring the eggs… silently.

She confronted him.
He said:

“If you had been watching from the beginning,
you would not have blamed the wind.”

The dove left the tree and said before departing:

“Silence is not proof of peace,
and some calmness hides fangs.”

Moral

Not everyone who does not harm you is pure,
and not everyone who stays silent is innocent.
Wisdom is not blind trust,
but balance between trust and awareness.
