البيت الذي بنيناه لأنفسنا

في مدينةٍ صغيرة، كان هناك نجّارٌ مسنّ يعمل بجد طوال حياته. وفي يومٍ ما، قرّر أن يتقاعد ويكتفي بما جمعه. جاءه صاحب الورشة وقال له بحزن:

“قبل أن ترحل… أريد منك آخر بيت تصمّمه لي.”

وافق النجار، لكنه لم يكن كما كان دائمًا؛ عمل بلا روح، واستخدم أخشابًا رخيصة، وأنهى البيت بسرعة فقط ليتخلّص منه.

وعندما انتهى، جاء صاحب الورشة وناول النجار مفتاح البيت قائلاً:

“هذا… بيتك أنت. هدية لك بعد سنوات إخلاصك.”

تجمّد النجار في مكانه. شعر بالخجل. لقد بنى أسوأ بيت… لنفسه.

وفهم حينها الحقيقة الكبيرة:

أحيانًا نبني مستقبلنا بنفس الطريقة التي بنى بها ذلك الرجل البيت—
نُهمِل، نتسرّع، لا نستثمر في أنفسنا… وفي النهاية نكتشف أن ما نصنعه يعود إلينا بالكامل.


? الدرس

ابنِ أيامك كما تتمنى أن تعيش غدك.
كل قرار… كل خطوة… كل اختيار تقوم به اليوم، هو لبنة في بيتك أنت—not anyone else.

The House We Built for Ourselves

In a small town, there lived an old carpenter who had worked hard all his life. One day, he decided to retire and rest. His employer came to him, saddened, and said:

“Before you leave… I want you to build one last house for me.”

The carpenter agreed, but he no longer worked with the same passion.
He rushed the job, used cheap wood, and finished the house quickly—just to be done with it.

When he was finished, the employer came, handed him the key, and said:

“This house… is yours. A gift for your years of dedication.”

The carpenter froze. He felt ashamed.
He had built the worst house of his life… and it turned out to be his own.

In that moment, he understood a powerful truth:

Sometimes we build our future the same way he built that house—
with shortcuts, with neglect, without investing in ourselves…
and later we realize that every decision comes back to us.
